PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Isolated Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring isolated rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (April 11, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that easterlies will bring cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms over parts of the country. The country’s weather conditions will remain very hot and muggy amid clear skies due to the easterlies.

“Patuloy pa ring nakakaapekto ang easterly winds sa ating bansa, kaya ngayong araw, makakaasa pa rin tayp ng maalinsangang panahon,” Aurelio said.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions. No weather disturbances were forming inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility,

The weather agency reported that the heat index in Metro Manila reaches 40 degrees Celsius at the NAIA, Pasay City station, and 39 degrees Celsius at the Science Garden in Quezon City.

The public was instructed to observe precautionary measures as some individuals may experience heat exhaustion and heat cramps, which may lead to heat stroke.

Here is the heat index in various parts of the country:

  • Laoag – 26 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio – 17 to 24 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay – 22 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi – 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands – 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa – 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo – 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu – 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban – 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan de Oro – 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Davao – 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga – 26 to 33 degrees Celsius

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will be moderate. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any seaboards of the country.
