Eat Bulaga Nonchalant About It’s Showtime’s “Pasabog”

Is it true that Eat Bulaga had an emergency meeting?

An insider shared that the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga is nonchalant about the “pasabog” of its rival noontime show It’s Showtime which is now airing on GMA network.

On April 6, it was official that the Kapamilya noontime show is occupying the Kapuso noontime slot. The contract signing happened on March 20 and allegedly it was just for six months. The noontime show led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon was previously occupying that spot but they transferred to TV5 after the conflict they had with TAPE Inc.

The Kapuso launch of It’s Showtime featured a lot of stars from GMA-7. Because of that episode, It’s Showtime surpassed Eat Bulaga’s ratings.

Based on the article by Pang-Masa entertainment writer Salve Asis, rumors surfaced that the longest-running noontime show had an emergency meeting because of their rival show’s “pasabog.”

However, it was said that an insider debunked the rumors. “Ayon sa isang insider ng TV5, hindi totoong may emergency meeting at super panic ang production ng EB,” she shared.

Asis added that the EB episodes for Monday and Tuesday were even taped to prove that they are worried about their rival show and they are not making an extra effort.

It was also said that the longest-running noontime show already knows that they have a specific audience that is avidly watching them. The show also has a loaded commercial line-up. “Kaya wala raw talaga silang financial problem contrary sa mga kumakalat na intriga,” the entertainment writer said.

The insider also shared that TV5 is happy with Eat Bulaga‘s ratings. There was a time when It’s Showtime was airing on the Kapatid network and its rating was just 2 percent. Additionally, they understand that the Kapamilya show is airing on five platforms while the longest-running noontime is just airing on two platforms.
