Eat Bulaga Defeated By It’s Showtime In Ratings On April 6

Eat Bulaga versus It’s Showtime, the ratings game goes intense

Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime won the ratings game against the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga.

The show of the Dabarkads started airing on GMA in 1995 and the show with the original hosts remained a Kapuso until 2023. Pioneer hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon and the legit Dabarkads transferred to TV5, and initially, they used the EAT title.

With the vacancy TAPE created a new group to replace the previous hosts. Eventually, the show had to use the Tahanang Pinakasamaya title as TVJ reclaimed the original title.

Last March, Tahanang Pinakamasaya was discontinued on the 20th of the said month, It’s Showtime signed a contract with GMA, which allegedly was just for six months.

On April 6, the Kapamilya noontime was officially launched on GMA Network. That episode was explosive in which Unkabogable Vice Ganda had his iconic monologue but a doubt was raised as it might have been copied from Darryl Yap’s 2020 monologue.

Eat Bulaga also had an explosive episode. Host Atasha Muhlach’s brother Andres Muhlach joined the Dabarkads and played in the Peraphy segment.

It’s Showtime featured a lot of Kapuso stars like Sanya Lopez and Jillian Ward who loved their experience being in the Kapamilya show.

Based on the article in PEP, It’s Showtime overpowered Eat Bulaga in ratings. Data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM showed that the Kapamilya noontime show got 9.7 percent. This was the combined ratings from GMA-7, GTV, A2Z, and Kapamilya Channel.

The noontime show of TVJ shown on TV5 and RPTV got 4.4 percent. It’s Showtime was leading by half.

Reportedly the commercial load of the Kapamilya noontime show doubled. It was said that this was quite expected as many people were excited about the historic “sanib-pwersa” between the Kapamilya noontime show and the Kapuso network.
