Recently, a 96-year-old grandfather from Rosario, Batangas goes viral online after he gifted his granddaughter with a P50 bill to celebrate her academic success. The post immediately spread like a wildfire online and elicits reactions from the netizens.
Erika Janelle Abjelina, the granddaughter, shared the heartwarming video on TikTok, revealing how her grandfather, Marcelo “Mamay Celo” Abjelina, always expresses his pride and support for her accomplishments.
Abjelina recounted the moment when she showed Mamay Celo her grades and certificate for being the top student in her class on March 23, 2024. To her surprise, Mamay Celo immediately disappeared into his room and returned with a P50, insisting that she add it to her allowance.
“Pinakita ko po sa Mamay Celo ang grades ko at certificate ng first honor. Nagulat na lang po ako kasi po bigla po siyang pumasok sa kwarto niya,Paglabas niya po ay may dala na siyang 50 pesos. Idagdag ko raw po sa baon ko,” Erika said.
