PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring hot and humid weather over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (March 27, 2024|), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that hot and humid weather is expected over the country. However, chances of rains are possible in the eastern parts of the country due to the easterlies, or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the eastern section of the country. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“Meanwhile, the remaining parts of Luzon are expected to experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,” Badrina said.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

Badrina said that the chances of rain may decrease on Thursday (March 28) and Friday (March 29).

No low-pressure area is expected to enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility today.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate coastal water conditions. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any parts of the country.
