Actress Iza Calzado was bashed by netizens for sharing revealing photos from her maternity shoot.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, Iza shared snaps from the time when she was pregnant. The actress gave birth last year. In the caption of her post, she said that she was sharing this kind of photo to celebrate and honor her body which has done a lot for her.
In the comment section of her post, celebrities and her fans admired her and agreed with her perspective of being a woman.
However, some bashed her. For these netizens, it was inappropriate for her to share those photos in which she was showcasing her baby bump without any clothes on.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Iza Calzado stressed that she was not totally without clothes. The actress said that her private areas were covered.
When she was asked if she read the negative comments, the actress said that she did for a while but stopped doing that. “Wala, because I didn’t post it for their reactions, for the reaction of other people,” the actress said.
She felt that her message reached those people who needed it. Iza wanted to inspire and she did not seek validation from other people. The actress also understands that people would disagree but a lot of people appreciated her post as well and understood the message she wanted to convey.
“Again, whoever needed to see that photo and read those words, and whoever needed it at that specific time, needed to believe in themselves more and understood the message, they are my audience,” Iza Calzado shared.
The actress also shared excitement if her daughter Deia would see and react to her photos. For her, her daughter would have a positive reaction to what she did because she did this as a grow-up woman and it wasn’t provocative.
