Mayor Niña Jose Reacts To Viral “Mabahong Mic” Issue
MABAHONG MIC – Bayambang, Pangasinan Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao reacted to her viral “mabahong mic” issue.
Bayambang, Pangasinan Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao reacted after her action of stopping in the middle of her speech went viral because the mic she was using really stinks. The actress-turned-politician delivered her speech at the flag ceremony in Balon, Bayambang, on March 18, 2024.
In the circulated video clip online, Niña asked her security to replace her microphone. She said, while still using the mic and audible to all attendees, “There’s bad breath here. Sorry, mabaho talaga yung mic. I can’t… mabaho… it’s amoy maasim. I don’t wanna have halitosis [bad breath], you know.”
Niña Jose defended herself, alleging that the video was edited to make her look ridiculous. She posted the entirety of her speech last Sunday, March 24.
In the video, it can be seen that Niña paused in the middle of her speech and mentioned the “mabahong mic.”
Starting her post, “Narito ang buong video ng aking speech noong nakaraang Flag Ceremony, which was maliciously edited by someone upang gawing katatawanan at siraan ang aking pagkatao.”
The mayor also listed her explanations:
First, the criticism that she allegedly maligned the person who used the microphone before her.
Niña Jose also defended herself against the backlash her statement received.
“If ever I have to apologize, I will apologize to the microphone because nasabi kong mabaho na ito.”
Niña also openly reacted to the people she said judged her.
“Alam nyo ba, minsan, iniisip ko ‘yung kasabihang ‘Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.’
Her concluding message, “Let’s spread love and understanding instead of judgment and hate. #NoToJudgment #SpreadLove”
