Kim Chiu feared that this controversy would end her career
Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu went through a much-talked-about controversy amid the pandemic because of her “bawal lumabas” remark.
To recall, Kim made this remark during a live streaming when Kapamilya stars defended ABS-CBN against the decision of Congress not to allow the media company to renew its franchise.
What Kim said went viral and controversial at the same time. She received criticism for allegedly stating something that she did not know about. The actress received bashing on social media because of that.
However, Kim Chiu somehow was able to create a positive thing from that controversy. She released her “bawal lumabas” merch and a song was created out of this issue. The Kapamilya star even had the chance to perform the song on Wish Bus and she went emotional because of this.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PUSH, Kim admitted that she thought that controversy would be the end of her career. However, she was able to bounce back and just recently, projects came after projects.
“Happy, apaka-OA. Masaya. Di ko inexpect. I thought I’m done. Gulat ako with everything, kaya masaya ako,” the actress said.
After a hit teleserye, she is now starring in another teleserye, aside from her hosting stint. “After ‘bawal lumabas’, so parang feeling ko, kaya nafra-fragile ako lately. From FIT Check, Linlang, and Showtime, and ito nga What’s Wrong With Secretay Kim? So, thankful talaga ako,” Kim shared.
The actress also admitted that “kaba” she felt for her new series with Paulo Avelino. They promoted this project for a long time and they are happy with the result.
Kim Chiu also promised that she would continue to do her best for her supporters. Walang mapaglagyan ‘yung puso ko sa sobrang saya. “Gusto ko lang mag-work nang mag-work, and dahil na rin sa mga taong sumusuporta din, mga naniniwala, sa mga taong curious din,” she said.
The actress added that she would not be able to achieve success if not for the people who have been supporting her and she hopes that this support will continue.
