UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN – This theme park in the land of the rising is a dream destination of many people and here are some details about it.

A world-class theme park that is a dream holiday destination of many is the Universal Studios Japan. This is located in Osaka and is one of the six Universal Studios in the world but the one is Japan is the first to open outside the United States.

There’s also a Universal Studios Singapore and just like this theme park, USJ is huge that navigating and exploring here could get a bit overwhelming.

From Osaka City Center, you can take a train from downtown Osaka or by bus from Kansai International Airport. If in a private car, you may take the Hanshin Expressway Wangan Route’s Hokko JCT and exit at the Universal City. 

The operating hours of the park varies but usually, it opens at 8:30 a.m. or  9 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. As for their March 2024 calendar, they open at 8 a.m. and will close at 10 p.m.

Attractions and rides

There are 60 attractions and rides that await you in USJ and surely, you cannot experience all of them in just one day there are some that you MUST and they are:

  • Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge will make you scream because of the challenging ride.
  • Jurassic Park – The Ride will have you get wet and wild and at the same, you will meet the T-Rex and other life-sized dinosaurs.
  • Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is a simulator ride to Gru’s home lab.
  • Hollywood Dream The Ride Backdrop is perfect for the adrenaline chasers as they will get to experience the plunge from a 43 meter drop–backwards.
  • Flight of the Hippogriff is in the the Universal Studios Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For the ultimate Potheads, you will get to experience the ride in a hippogriff because of the sways, spirals, and dives of their roller coaster.

If you’ve become hungry after all those spectacular rides and shows, there’s nothing to worry about as restaurants and other stalls where you can buy food are spread all over the park. You’ll never go hungry inside the USJ!

Three Broomsticks is perfect for all the Potheads out there. This is the place where you can buy the Butterbeer that will ultimately take you to the Hogsmeade. Finnegan’s Bar & Grill is where you can enjoy Western foods at while Studio Stars Restaurant is the place where rice meals, Western dishes, baby and kids meals, and non-pork, non-alcoholic menu items are served.

Pop-A-Nana is where you can get a good bucket of popcorn and another perfect place for some snacks is the Beverly Hills Boulangerie known for their French-style Cafe serving coffee, sandwiches, and confectionery.

  • California Confectionery: for sweets and specialty snacks
  • Peanuts Corner Store: for Peanuts and Snoopy items
