Following the 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Davao Occidental a few days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in the same province. According to the agency, the quake hit Davao Occidental today with a magnitude of 4.3.

The earthquake today that struck Davao Occidental, Thursday, March 14, 2024, was tectonic in origin.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 03.33°North, 126.58°East – 264 km South 29° East of Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 126 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
