PAGASA Says Amihan and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and easterlies will bring rain over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (March 12, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that the Northeast Monsoon will affect extreme Northern Luzon while easterlies will continue to affect the rest of the country.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region, CARAGA, Aurora, and Quezon.

“Over areas ng Aurora and Quezon posible pong makaranas ng scattered rain showers or thunderstorms,” Torres said.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Ilocos Region.

“Posibleng makaranas ng pag ulan mostly eastern sections ng Mindanao so diyan po sa Caraga and Davao region posible po ‘yung mga kalat kalat na pag ulan,” Torres explained.

The easterlies or localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Generally fair weather condition is expected over Northern Luzon except for chances of isolated rains.

“Samantalang magiging maaliwalas pa rin ang panahon sa bahagi ng Northern Luzon liban na lang ng mga tiyansa ng pag ulan o pag ambon,” she added.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over the country’s seaboard.
