Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo is the first Pinay to receive the Global Force Award and here’s her heartfelt thanks for this achievement.
Among Billboard’s 2024 Women in Music Global Force Honorees is PH’s Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo. She is the first Pinay to get the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards, an event held at the Inglewood, California, on March 6.
In a previous article, Sarah honored her Mommy Divine when she had her moment to be interviewed at the event. She called out her mother saying, “Shout out to my mother, Mommy Divine Geronimo, you are the best, you are my hero. I love you very much.”
After this event, she finally took the time to share her thoughts about this achievement.
In an Instagram post, she thanked the Billboard for giving her the award which she shared with Italian singer-songwriter Annalisa and Brazilian singer-songwriter Luisa Sonza. She thanked them administering an event that will celebrate women and at the same time, a recognition that she humbly accepted for the country in behalf of its people.
For her, the recognition is a symbol of courage to break boundaries and rise above the surface and a hope to create a bridge to connect the people around the world through music.
Apart from the Billboard, she also thanked others and first on her list is God. She also thanked her parents, her family, her boss, the Viva, her fans, and her husband Matteo Guidicelli.
