Sarah Geronimo make history for the Philippine music industry
Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo expressed her gratitude to these people for her Global Force award from the 2024 Billboard Women in Music.
Sarah became the first Filipina artist to be part of this prestigious event in music. She went to the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California to personally receive her award.
The singer-actress was joined by her husband Kapuso actor-host Matteo Guidicelli. During the interview on the red carpet, Sarah mentioned her mom, Mommy Divine Geronimo. She thanked her mother, her hero, for being there for her.
After the awards ceremony, Sarah Geronimo shared a post on her Instagram page saying thank you to all the people who have joined her journey from the start and until now.
The singer-actress thanked her parents, her family, and her bosses in Viva Entertainment. She also thanked her fans, the Popsters. Sarah said that she would not reach where she is now if not because of the unwavering support from her fans.
The Popstar Royalty also expressed gratitude to her husband. “To my husband, Matt, Thank you for pushing me to be a better version of myself everyday,” Sarah wrote. Sarah also thanked Billboard for highlighting women in music and for this recognition for the Philippines.
“I humbly accept this award on behalf of every excellent Filipino artist back home and all over the world,” the singer-actress said.
Sarah also said that this recognition signifies courage to accept and embrace one’s self, and break boundaries, and rise above the challenges.
For her, it also symbolizes the hope that one day, this will be a bridge between the Philippines and other nations to unite to create change and positivity in the world through music.
The acclaimed performer ended her thank you speech with this: “Once again, I am Sarah Geronimo, from the Philippines. Mabuhay ang OPM. Maraming maraming Salamat po!”
