Earlier, the hosts and staff hugged each other and bowed during their last episode. One of the hosts, Chariz Solomon also confirmed the news on social media.

Starting March 8, 2024, the show will no longer be on air. In an official statement, TAPE announced this with a heavy heart. In the statement, they expressed their “profound gratitude” to GMA for their “long and fruitful partnership”.

“GMA 7’s kind consideration and understanding of the company’s unwanted circumstances have been instrumental in helping the company in this transition. Despite our best efforts to save the show, both parties have reached a mutual agreement to finally call off the show,” it added.

They tried to save the show but due to unforeseen and unwanted circumstances, they have compromised and agreed to mutually end the show. To the loyal viewers of the show, the hosts, advertisers, crew, and employees, the company expressed their sincere ‘Thank you!’ and positive ‘See you again!’.

In a previous article, it was reported that Contis allegedly cried in the dressing room after the show aired its last live episode.

To recall, the TAPE noontime show was previously called “Eat Bulaga” initially after the trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon left along with the other hosts. However, TVJ did not back down from these. They put up a fight claiming that “Eat Bulaga” was theirs legally and their legal fight turned out victorious.

TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” was changed to “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” and the name of the show was finally used by TVJ in TV5.

  1. This is a lesson in humility. Had Contis not been as arrogant as if he owned the show, the show’s fate as well as the hosts’ would have been different. Karma is real!
