PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring isolated rain showers over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (March 6, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that the easterlies will bring hot and humid temperatures but cloudy skies and isolated rains are still expected over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The easterlies refer to the warm winds coming from the direction of the Pacific Ocean.
“Dito nga sa Luzon makikita natin na ang malaking bahagi ng Luzon ay makararanas ng mga isolated rain showers at thunderstorms at medyo mainit pa rin na tanghali,” Badrina said.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the whole Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“Sa bahagi ng Kabisayaan naman inaasahan pa rin ang pulopulong pagulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog,” he added.
Generally fair weather conditions are expected over Mindanao with chances of isolated rain showers.
The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Palawan, the rest of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate.
PAGASA is not monitoring any storms or low-pressure areas. There is a low chance of weather disturbances entering the Philippine area of responsibility for the rest of the week.
No gale warning was raised over the country’s seaboard. However, slight to moderate wave conditions are expected in the country’s coastal areas.
