PAGASA Says Easterlies Will Bring Hot and Humid Weather Over Parts of PH

On Tuesday (March 5, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that easterlies will bring hot and humid weather conditions over most parts of the country but cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in some areas.

“Asahan may kainitan pa rin ‘yung mga temperatura [sa bansa] lalong lalo na pagdating ng tanghali — maximum temperatures dito sa Metro Manila na posibleng umabot ng 33 celsius,” Torres said.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora.

Posible makaapekto ang easterlies dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Northern at Central Luzon so may mga posibilidad din po na kalat kalat na pagulan although mahihina lamang,” she explained.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and some areas.

The rest of the archipelago will experience generally fair weather but with chances of isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any parts of the country. Light to moderate wave conditions are expected on the country’s coasts.
