On Friday (March 1, 2024), a CCTV captured the encounter between a cat and a snake inside of a garage in Barangay Parco. The two stared and observed each other without making unnecessary movements.
After a few moments, a taxi driver stepped off from his vehicle to watch the encounter. However, the cat felt fear and took a precautionary measure and observed distance from the reptile.
The cat quickly retreated when taxi drivers intervened and disposed of the snake. The reptile quickly fled due to the commotion.
The encounter shows a growing concern among Cebuanos regarding the increasing number of snake sightings in the province, particularly those involving highly venomous species like the king cobra.
Over the past few months, reports of snake sightings have raised concerns about human-snake interactions in urban areas.
