PAGASA Says Easterlies and LPA’s Trough to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that LPA’s trough and easterlies will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (February 27, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that easterlies and troughs of a Low-Pressure Area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Davao Region.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over parts of Luzon. It will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

The monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of the country.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Generally fair weather can be expected over the rest of Mindanao and its surrounding areas in Visayas despite some chances of isolated rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate, surrounding sea conditions.

“Our compatriots there are being cautioned of the possibility of floods and landslides caused by rains which may persist throughout the day,” Torres said.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s coastal waters but moderate to rough waves reaching 3.1 meters high are possible in Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country.
