Earl Reyes, a TikTok user, shared a video of himself being emotional during Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concert in Australia. The post quickly went viral and elicited reactions from the online community.

Reyes and his boyfriend were having a conversation about how they were able to attend the concert after months of waiting and planning. Earl realized how far he had come from the time he started following Taylor’s music to being there.
The Swiftie fan shared that he couldn’t afford to buy ice cream for Taylor’s Red Tour before.
“Naiyak ako kasi dati walang pambili ng ice cream for her Red Tour to traveling to Australia to watch her perform live. My mom didn’t have money to spend on non-essentials and also hindi pa ako out nun as gay so it’s scary to ask my mama to watch Taylor Swift. Sobrang surreal ng feeling from queueing to sitting at our assigned seats. The venue was so huge it made Taylors stage seem small,” he said.

Earl has been a fan since he first heard her in 2010. But his love for her intensified during the height of the pandemic and while he was reviewing for the bar exam. He explained that Taylor Swift seems to accompany him during those moments through her songs.
“Nag sink in na sakin siya while waiting at kumamain kami ng bf ko. [We were] having our conversation [nang] bigla na lang bumuhos uncontrollably luha ko. I was a fan since I first heard her nung 2010. Pero my love for her intensified during the height of the pandemic and sakto review ko for the bar exam. It was Taylor who accompanied me during those moments kaya I am just that emotional,” Earl added.
