PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that northeast monsoon and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (February 24, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil reported that the Northeast Monsoon will be affecting extreme Northern Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The Easterlies/localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
