PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Hot and Humid Weather Over Most Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country.

On Thursday (February 15, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA expert Benison Estareja reported that easterlies will influence the weather pattern in the country. Hot and humid weather, with a chance of rainfall, will prevail over most parts of the country. Amihan will affect Northern Luzon.

The northeast monsoon will bring overcast skies with some isolated light rains expected in the evening over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region.

Cloudy skies are expected over the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila although rainfall is not expected.

“In the remaining parts of Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa, the chance of rain remains low, including Metro Manila,” Estareja said.

The easterlies will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring sunny weather with chances of light rains in the evening and early morning over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the Eastern section of Visayas will be moderate to rough seas. The rest of Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

No gale warning was raised in any parts of the country as Amihan weakened. No low-pressure area is expected to enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility.
