How true is this about Marian Rivera and Bea Alonzo?
Mrena of “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update” shares what her source in GMA told her about Marian Rivera and Bea Alonzo.
The current queens of the GMA network are Marian Rivera and Bea Alonzo. Respectively, these actress are successful and considered A-listers in the industry. Rivera has been in GMA ever since she started and is even dubbed the “Primetime Queen”.
Her film “Rewind” with her husband Dingdong Dantes is currently the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
Alonzo, on the other hand, became officially a Kapuso in 2021. She was offered to do a teleserye and a network contract by GMA which she accepted. It was a huge leap and transition in her career as she started in ABS-CBN. Moreover, she decided to move at the time when her former network lost in its franchise renewal bid.
Recently, in the episode of “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update”, Mrena dropped something which surprised Ogie Diaz and Mama Loi.
According to the source of Mrena, before a project is offered to Alonzo, it will be first presented to Rivera. If the latter turns down, it will then be offered to the former Kapamilya.
“Eh kasi kuya may kaibigan ako sa GMA…may nasabi lang sakin, na bago i-alok ang isang teleserye kay Bea Alonzo, eh dadaan muna kay Marian, siya muna ang aalukin kuya. Kapag hindi tinanggap ni Marian, saka mapupunta kay Bea, saka iaalok,” said Mrena.
However, in the same episode, Diaz expressed that this claim is not confirmed and is just according to the source of Mrena. They accordingly don’t know the real story behind this claim but it’s just something relayed to Mrena from someone she knows.
“Di yan confirm,” quips Diaz in the video.
Meanwhile, the last project Alonzo did in GMA was “Love Before Sunrise” with Dennis Trillo. Her upcoming drama series Widows’ War with multi-awarded Kapuso actress Carla Abellana.
