PAGASA Says Amihan and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and easterlies will bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Friday (February 9, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Amihan and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA expert Benison Estareja reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting extreme Northern Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country. The monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Cagayan.

“Patuloy pa din po ang epekto ng dalawang weather system sa ating bansa. Una na po ang easterlies na siyang nakakaapekto sa eastern side ng ating bansa,” Estareja said.
Estareja said that no tropical cyclone will either form or enter the Philippine area of responsibility this weekend.
“Base naman po sa ating latest satellite animation, wala tayong namamataan na low pressure area or bagyo na papasok sa ating PAR sa susunod na tatlong araw,” he explained.

Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
“Sa extreme northern Luzon nakakaapekto pa din po ang northeast monsoon or amihan at sa ngayon ay inaasahan lalakas sa mga susunod na araw,” he added.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
