Group of Teenagers in Bogo City Faces Sanctions After Staging ‘Horror Prank’ to Scare Motorists Along the Road
BOGO CITY – A group of teenagers recently found themselves in hot water after staging a ‘horror prank’ along the road.
Jed Mark Mandawe, a Facebook user, shared video footage of a group of teenagers staging a horror prank. A girl wearing a white lady costume stands along the road with lighted candles nearby. The video elicited reactions from the netizens.
The pranksters staged a ‘horror prank’ that alarmed motorists along the road in Anunang Sur. The barangay tanods, immediately took action by arresting up the pranksters, including a young lady dressed as a white lady, to face the consequences of their actions.
The group had been staging horror pranks on motorists passing through Purok 1, Sitio Arapal.
The barangay officials of Anonang Sur in Bogo City summoned the involved teenagers, accompanied by their parents and guardians, over the alarming prank. The group is comprised of three minors and two individuals of legal age, according to Barangay Captain Jenelyn Tabaco.
Tabaco explained that the teenagers would undergo a week of community service. The group would be tasked with collecting garbage in the area where they staged their frightening prank. The residents suggested the penalty for the pranksters.
The rumors circulating about ‘ungo-ungo,’ or ghouls, allegedly spotted in the area added to the unease in the area.
Mandawe shared that his cousin had encountered the pranksters, and even fell victim to the prank himself. Barangay officials have learned the reports about scared motorists who almost got into accidents. The officials went to the area to investigate the reports.
On Sunday, February 4, 2024, a couple on a motorcycle being approached by a girl asking for help, raised suspicions among residents. The couple, fearing it was a setup, quickly left the area.

Tensions were only raised when other similar incidents were reported on social media.
Arvin Gonzaga and John Paul Cabarlles, two of the individuals, apologized in public on Barangay Anonang Sur’s Facebook page, admitting their mistake of judgment and the distress that they had caused the community.
