Pinoy Historian Ambeth Ocampo Met Veronica Balayo Who Has Resemblance to His Late Mom
Popular Filipino historian Ambeth Ocampo personally met a woman who bears a resemblance to his late mother, Belen Ocampo.
Veronica Balayo from Davao City, went viral on social media due to her resemblance to Belen, as captured in an old photograph displayed at the National Museum. The photo garnered various reactions from the online community.
Ambeth Ocampo recounted how Veronica visited the National Museum and noticed the resemblance between herself and the woman in the old photo. Balayo even wondered if she could be the reincarnation of Belen.
“After seeing the photo sinabi ko sa officemate ko bakit parang ako?! sabi nila oo nga and then yun na nag picture ako together with the photo without even knowing kung sino yun,” Veronica said.
She immediately felt an instant connection and couldn’t stop looking at their photo.
Last Sunday (February 4, 2024), Ocampo expressed his desire to meet Veronica in person during the recent episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.” Eventually, they met and was amazed at how closely Veronica resembled his mother.
Balayo expressed her aspiration to imitate Belen’s qualities and lead a fulfilling life. She shared her dreams of having a successful career, starting a family, and being proud of her future children.
Ocampo also leaves a message for Veronica emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s career and finding the right partner, similar to the independent and career-oriented nature of his late mother.
“Ang importante talaga na meron kang sarili mong career and that you find the right husband. My mother was career-oriented. Marami siyang pinasok na trabaho. Which I think is what a modern woman is. Independent. With independent income from your husband,” Ocampo said.
