Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual are the Best Actors in MIFF 2024 winners’ list.
MIFF 2024 – Firefly won big at the first-ever Manila International Film Awards which was held on Saturday, February 3.
The Manila International Film Festival 2024 or MIFF held its inaugural ceremonyat the TCL Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles, USA. This event took place from January 29 to February 2 which mainly aims to put Filipino films on the spotlight in the Hollywood scene.
The closing night was at the Directors Guild of America on Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, California and in this event, the winners were introduced.
Filipino stars Dingdong Dantes of “Rewind” and Piolo Pascual of “Mallari” were among the big winners. These A0list actors tied in the Best Actor category. Meanwhile, the film “Firefly” got the most number of awards.
The film took home the Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actress awards. This was followed by “Mallari” which bagged three awards.

- David Maquiling, academic and artistic director of the School of Cinematic Arts Summer Program at the University of Southern California
- Sumalee Montano, a television and film actress
