After some months of speculations, Kathryn Bernardo ends it by staying with ABS-CBN and here’s what made her stay.
On February 2, 2024, superstar Kathryn Bernardo renewed her contract with ABS-CBN. She remained loyal to her home network after two decades and she graced the reaffirmation of her commitment in a show-stopping emerald green outfit.
During Kathryn’s contract renewal, she became emotional while thanking her family and real friends. She is thankful to the people who have been with her during her rough times, especially last year. According to her, last year was very hard.
She said, “Sila yung mga nandiyan, especially noong pinakakailangan ko sila. So thank you for staying, thank you for being with me through all these.”
Present during this event are Chief Executive Officer and President Carlo Katigbak, Chairman Mark Lopez, Chief Operating Officer for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Head of Star Magic and Entertainment Production Laurenti Dyogi, Head of ABS-CBN Films Kriz Gazmen, Chief Finance Officer Rick Tan, at Head of Star Magic Marketing and Senior Talent Manager Alan Real.
Why did Kathryn stay?
In the event, the superstar expressed her thoughts about the renewal. One main reason she stayed is that she promised the company she loves that she will despite the struggles and challenges. She made this promise in 2020 and she is just fulfilling that promise.
She promised the network that she would stay until rises again. She quipped, “Together, we will rise despite all the challenges, we’ll be stronger and even better.”
Kathryn also thanked her bosses. She “trusted them more than anybody when it comes to work”. The contract signing is also a seal to their friendship as this would not be even possible without them.
She added, “Hindi ako makakatulog kapag nakita ko sila at iniwan ko sila, hindi ko kaya.”
