WALANG PASOK – Various local government units declared class suspensions due to inclement weather conditions.

Over the past few days, the Trough of the Low-Pressure Area and northeast monsoon have affected the country’s weather conditions. The two weather systems continue to bring rain over most parts of the archipelago.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides over Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol Region.

On Thursday (February 1, 2024), several local government units declared class suspensions due to the inclement weather conditions. The cancellation of classes has been made to ensure the safety of both students and school personnel.

General Santos City, Soccsksargen – All levels, public and private schools

Hagonoy, Davao del Sur – All levels, public and private schools shift to blended learning

Malungon, Sarangani – All levels, public and private schools

Santa Maria, Davao Occidental – All levels, public and private schools and government employees to work from home

Sultan Kudarat – All levels, public and private schools

Tagum City, Davao del Norte – All levels, shift to modular or online classes
