Several LGUs Declares Class Suspensions for Wednesday (January 31, 2024), Due to Adverse Weather Condition

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units announced class suspensions in some areas due to the inclement weather conditions.

On Wednesday (January 31, 2024), the northeast monsoon and the trough of a low-pressure area bring rains in many parts of the country. The two weather systems will dampen Luzon, parts of Visayas, and most of Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Northern Samar.

The LPA’s trough will also bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Central Visayas, Biliran, Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Northern Mindanao, Soccskargen, Caraga, and Davao Region.

The inclement weather conditions prompted various local government units to declare class suspension in some areas.

Class Suspensions

Here is the list of areas covered by suspension of classes:

  • Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental – All levels, public and private including government offices
  • Davao City – All levels, public and private, Work from Home for government employees
  • San Isidro, Davao Oriental – All levels, public and private
  • Mati, Davao Oriental – All levels, public and private including government offices

Inclement weather can pose risks to commuters, students, and workers. By suspending classes and allowing employees to work from home, local authorities are taking precautionary measures to prioritize safety and minimize possible dangers associated with traveling during inclement weather conditions.
