PAGASA Says LPAs Trough and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that LPA’s trough and the northeast monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (January 31, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country the trough of a low-pressure area and northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Northeast Monsoon will bring light rains over Luzon and Visayas while the trough of a Low-Pressure Area will be affecting Mindanao.
The low-pressure area spotted south of the country and outside of the Philippine area of responsibility has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, Davao Region, Central Visayas, Biliran, Samar, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte.
Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Northern Samar.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of Luzon. Generally fair weather is also expected in these areas despite some chances of isolated light rains.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao as well as the rest of the country will be moderate to rough, according to PAGASA.
A gale warning was also raised over the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
