Authorities Rescued Snake from Electrocution in Pangasinan
A snake narrowly escaped electrocution, causing a commotion among residents and motorists in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
Snakes are amazing creatures that catch our interest with their unique features and habits. These crawling reptiles can be found in a variety of places around the world, including woods, deserts, grasslands, and even cities.
They play an important role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. They help control rodent populations by keeping their numbers in check.
Recently, a snake was found coiled around an electric post, prompting authorities to intervene and rescue the stranded reptile
According to a witness, the snake was initially spotted feasting on a tree and seemingly lost its way, leading it to the electric post. The snake reportedly suffered an electric shock, causing it to weaken.
Authorities immediately responded and rescued the snake, which appeared to have sustained injuries.
The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office suggests that snakes may venture out of their habitats due to hunger, disturbances in their nests, or changing weather conditions.
These factors could lead them to unfamiliar places, putting them at risk of accidents, such as the recent encounter with the electric post.
Meanwhile, in Ormoc City, another snake incident was reported as a 10-foot-long, 12-kilogram snake was turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The snake was discovered underneath a parked vehicle.
The incidents show the challenges that snakes and other creatures experience when they pass through human-populated regions. Environmental experts emphasize the need to recognize and resolve the factors that attract these animals to urban areas to avoid future conflicts and maintain the safety of both humans and wildlife.
