PAGASA Says Amihan to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon will bring light rains over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (January 20, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA Weather Specialist Daniel James E. Villamil reported that the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon and will bring rains over some areas. It will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the whole Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“For the next 24 hours buong bansa ay makakaranas pa rin ng pangkalahatang maaliwalas na panahon, may tsansa pa rin tayo ng mga light rains na dala ng amihan sa bahagi ng Northern Luzon,” he added.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be rough. The rest of the archipelago will be moderate to rough, according to PAGASA.
