Lumpia Vendor Sells Products Using Bicycle to Save Money & Buy House

A lumpia vendor sells his delicious treats and products using a humble bicycle, saying, “pangarap ko lang magkaroon ng bahay.”

JR Sagu, a 24-year-old resident of Barangay Tatalon in Quezon City, has been pedaling his bike for three years to sell his fish and vegetable lumpia. Creating his unique lumpia and special vinegar dip, JR pedals his way through each day, providing for his wife and two children.

His livelihood, selling vegetable lumpia for P10 each and fish lumpia for P15, allows him to earn almost P1,000 a day from an initial investment of P1,500. Facing the sun and rain on the streets, JR shares that he braves the various weather conditions to secure a decent life for his family.

Wala talaga kaming ibang inaasahan.

Sagu used to work as a construction worker but later decided to invest in the business of making and selling lumpia.

JR also stands out in his Lumpia vending business by using a sound system attached to his bike. As he roams across Barangay South Triangle to Mabuhay Rotonda in Quezon City, a pre-recorded dialogue plays, “lumpia, lumpia, kayo diyan lumpia,” attracting potential customers.
