PAGASA Says No Tropical Cyclone is Expected to Enter PAR in Next Few Days

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that no tropical cyclone is expected to enter PAR over the next few days.

On Friday (January 19, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line will continue to affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA expert Benison Estareja said reported that the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao while the northeast monsoon will bring light rains over parts of Luzon.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The shear line and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be rough. The remaining parts of the country will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

Estareja said that no tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. “Wala pa din po tayong nakikitang bagyo na papasok ng ating Philippine area of responsibility sa loob ng limang araw,” Estareja said.

However, the shear line and northeast monsoon may bring overcast skies and rains may still be possible in several areas of the country.
