Here are the Permanent Disabilities covered by the SSS Disability Benefit:
- complete loss of sight of both eyes;
- loss of two limbs at or above the ankle or wrists;
- permanent complete paralysis of two limbs;
- brain injury resulting to incurable imbecility or insanity; and
- such cases as determined and approved by the SSS
Under the SSS Disability Benefit offer, a member must have posted at least one (1) monthly contribution prior to the semester that the disability took place to qualify for the filing of claim.
With regards to the amount or benefits, they may vary depending on the total contributions posted by the member. He/She may get an SSS Disability Benefit Pension or an SSS Disability Benefit Lump Sum.
Steps in SSS Disability Benefit Claim Filing:
- Step 1 — Prepare all the requirements needed in filing for SSS Disability Benefit claim.
- Step 2 — Go to a branch of the Social Security System nearest to you. Submit all your documentary requirements to file a c laim.
