Raymart Santiago Releases Statement Following Claudine Barretto’s Revelations

This is the statement of Raymart Santiago regarding the legal battles with Claudine Barretto.

Actor Raymart Santiago issues statement following the revelations of his estranged wife actress Claudine Barretto.

Actress Claudine Barretto revealed that she’s currently trying to recover millions of pesos from an ex-husband. She did not say any names but it is known that her ex-husband is Raymart Santiago and that they are currently amid legal battles.

She vowed to get back the millions of pesos for her kids.

“We’re talking about hundreds of millions na. Ang iniwan sa akin was Php 25,000. Sa isang bangko pa lang was, like, Php 116 million. Isang bangko pa lang ‘yun. And iniwan was Php 25,000. And I don’t know kung bakit kahit na or whatever, dapat sinasabihan ka ng bangko, ‘di ba?” Claudine revealed about the hundreds of millions her former partner got from her when they separated.

Out of that figure, she was able to take back Php 7 million.

Claudine said that the case is now in court. She also expressed that she needed this money because apart from the fact that she earned it from her blood, sweat, and tears, it was also for her kids. She needed the money now because her kids want to study abroad.

To recall, Claudine and Raymart were married first in a civil wedding in May 2004 and married again in March 2006 in a church wedding.

Following the revelations of Barretto, Santiago released a statement reminding her of the gag order.

The gag order was dated September 20, 2023, and it stated that “parties refrain from expressing in any form, making any defamatory statement or comment, or answer questions pertaining to the other party, and from publicizing the same through print, broadcast media, or digital media. This Gag Order remains to be binding upon the parties.”

Santiago’s statement also reminded her of Section 12 of Republic Act No. 8369 (Family Court Act of 1997) which indicates “confidentiality of court proceedings in child and family cases”.

The statement reminded not only Barretto but also other media outlets that a violation of a court order included “making, airing, and publishing defamatory statements about our client”.

The statement furthered:

“Nobody is above the law. Let this be a stern warning that Ms. Barretto’s act of making false, malicious, and defamatory statements about our client are flagrant violations of the Gag Order issued by the court where the nullity proceedings are pending.”
