PAGASA Says 4 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that four weather systems will bring rain over parts of the country.
On Friday (January 5, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The amihan, easterlies, shear lines, and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon while the easterlies will affect the areas within Visayas and Mindanao.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
“Dito naman sa bahagi ng Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, maging sa bahagi rin ng Aurora, at Quezon ay magiging maulap ‘yung kalangitan at mataas ‘yung tyansa ng mga mahihinang pag-ulan o pag-ambon na dulot ng amihan,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rain over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao, the rest of Visayas, and MIMAROPA.
Amihan will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be rough. The rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will have moderate to rough seas. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
“Mayroon pa rin tayong nakataas na gale warning sa dagat baybayin ‘yan ng Batanes, northern coast ng Cagayan kasama na ang Babuyan Islands, maging sa northern coast ng Ilocos Norte kung saan mapanganib pa rin ang pagpalaot para sa ating mga kababayang mangingisda pati na rin ‘yung may mga maliliit na sasakyang pangdagat,” Castañeda added.
