In Negros Occidental, officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) came across a young boy living alone in a humble hut while conducting a survey.
The boy, a fourth-grade student, revealed that he is the lone resident of the hut due to his parents’ separation. They went their separate ways, leaving the poor boy behind to fend for himself.
The young boy shared that since his parents parted ways, he has been living alone in the hut. Despite facing the challenges of solitude, he remains determined to persevere and continue his education.
The heartbreaking story of this resilient fourth-grader describes life’s difficulties head-on. It demonstrates a spirit of independence and tenacity uncommon for someone his age.
The separation of his parents forced him into a situation where he had to take on the responsibility of living on his own.
The online community and authorities are urged to lend a helping hand to support this young student on his journey to self-reliance and education.

The DSWD should immediately take good care of the kid in their custody to properly feed him and to give him a decent schooling.
