PAGASA Says Easterlies & Amihan Will Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The latest weather bureau reported that easterlies and northeast monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (December 27, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Northeast Monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Luzon and easterlies affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa weather specialist Patrick del Mundo reported that cloud clusters may bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon and Mindanao.

“As early as this morning, mayroon po tayong namamataan na mga cloud clusters o mga pulu-pulong kaulapan na maaaring magdala ng mga isolated rain showers and thunderstorms sa may bahagi ng Zamboanga Peninsula, gayon din sa ilang bahagi ng Davao region, Soccsksargen, at sa may Bicol region,” del Mundo said.

The monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Quezon.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, and Palawan.

Amihan will also bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

No low-pressure area is expected to affect the country’s weather conditions within the next three days.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon will be rough.  The rest of Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate to rough seas.

The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
