Police Authorities Recover Illegal Drugs from Thief Arrested for Stealing Solar Studs

Police authorities have recovered illegal drugs from a thief who was arrested for stealing solar studs in Taguig City.

The 50-year-old self-proclaimed masseur was apprehended in Zone 4 at Fort Bonifacio while allegedly tampering with the said road lights. He will face charges of Illegal Possession of a Deadly Weapon and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Cops Arrest Man for Stealing Solar Studs in Taguig, Illegal Drugs Found in His Possesion

A man who was arrested for trying to steal solar studs in Taguig City was also found in possession of suspected illegal drugs.

On Saturday early morning (December 23, 2023), a male suspect attempting to steal solar road studs in Taguig City was apprehended and also found in possession of suspected illegal drugs.

The suspect, a 50-year-old self-proclaimed masseur, was arrested at around 2 a.m. by police in Zone 4 at Fort Bonifacio while allegedly tampering with the said road lights.

The police authorities discovered various IDs, metal, a bag, a knife, and a small amount of suspected illegal drugs, less than a gram, during the arrest. These items will be taken to the National Capital Region Police Office for verification.

“Upon approaching namin, hiningan namin siya ng identification card ngunit wala siyang maipakita. So doon, inimbitahan namin siya sa presinto at noong chineck namin ang bag niya, nakita namin ang iba’t ibang ID na pinakita niya na hindi naman sa kanya,” the arresting officer said Patrolman John Carlo Marco.

“‘Yun ang naging rason para ma-frisk namin siya. Bukod doon, nakita namin ang kitchen knife kaya napag-isipan namin na baka may gawin siyang masama,” Marco added.

However, the suspect denied the allegations. “Hindi ako nagtitiktik diyan sir. Hindi ako ‘yun,” shouted the suspect from behind bars during an interview with the arresting officers.

The suspect claimed that he wasn’t stealing solar studs to sell them, he was just inspecting the lights.

“Tinitingnan ko anong klase siya. Bakit nailaw siya sa semento sa kalsada. Minsan pag ako natalon nawawala ‘yung ilaw,” said the suspect.

The suspect admitted to using illegal drugs and even admitted using it at the police station. He knelt, claiming to be a prayerful person. He said he had the bag and IDs for about a month, which he claimed to have just picked up.

The culprit explained that his knife was for self-defense. He will be facing charges of Illegal Possession of a Deadly Weapon and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
