Actor-singer Janno Gibbs has a “sweetest” post for his father Ronaldo Valdez whose death was announced over the weekend.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief BGen Redrico Maranan confirmed that Ronaldo Valdez was found dead in his room on Sunday afternoon. He was found lifeless in his chair in his unit in Casa Nueva Homes, Manga Street, New Manila.

He had gunshot wounds on his temples and he was holding a pistol with an empty magazine. His driver Angelito Oclarit found his body.

Based on a previous article, everyone in the house of Valdez will undergo paraffin and ballistic tests, a part of the standard investigation of cases like this. The authorities are still waiting for the results to determine the real cause of the actor’s passing.

Janno Gibbs issued a statement about the passing of the veteran actor and confirmed it. In the statement, he expressed, “It is with great sorrow that i confirm my father’s passing. The family would like to request that you respect our privacy in our grieving moment. Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated.”

According to the QCPD chief, they will release the findings of the investigation once it’s finished. They also urge the public to stop making conclusions and assumptions and to give the family the privacy to grieve they requested.

Many people from the industry posted tribute for the actor and recently, his son shared a short but sweet tribute for him.

In an Instagram post, Janno wrote “The Sweetest Dad Ever” in the caption with a photo of them in matching outfits. The comment section of the post was flooded with messages of condolences.

On December 17, 2023, the veteran actor passed away at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife Marife Gibbs and their children, Janno and Melissa Gibbs.

As an actor, he won awards such as Best Supporting Actor from the Film Academy of the Philippines Awards, Gawan Urian, FAMAS Awards, Star Awards for Movies, Metro Manila Film Festival, and the Helen Vela Lifetime Achievement Award for Drama from the Golden Screen TV Awards.
