PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon will bring isolated rain showers over parts of the country.

On Saturday (December 16, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Weather Specialist Obet Badrina Northeast Monsoon will bring isolated rain showers over parts of Northern Luzon.

Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“Samantala, sa nalalabing bahagi ng bansa sa patuloy na pag-iral ng easterlies at mga localized thunderstorms ai inaasahan pa rin natin ang mga isolated rainsowers and thunderstorms habang possible ho sa tanghali hanggang hapon medyo mainit at maalinsangang panahon,” he explained.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

“Samantala, patuloy pa rin nating minomonitor ang low-presssure area na ating binabantayan sa mga nakalipas na araw. Huli itong namataan 1,225 kilometers east of Mindanao, nasa labas pa rin ito PAR at inaasahan papasok ng bansa ngayong araw ng Sabado,” he added.
