7-Year-Old Boy Passes Away After Choking on Gummy Ball Candy in San Regio, Antique
HEARTBREAKING INCIDENT – A 7-year-old boy lost his life after choking on a gummy ball candy in San Regio, Antique.
Choking incidents can be frightening and happen unexpectedly, but knowing how to handle them is important for everyone’s safety.
Choking occurs when a person’s airway is blocked, either partially or completely, preventing them from breathing properly. This blockage can be caused by food, small objects, or even liquids.

Swallowing large bites or not chewing food thoroughly can lead to choking. Small objects, such as toys or food items, pose a choking risk for young children who tend to explore things by putting them in their mouths.
Recently, a young boy passed away life after choking on a gummy ball candy. The victim’s mother shared the heartbreaking incident, revealing that they had boarded a jeepney, and the young boy had requested ice cream.
However, the mother couldn’t buy it for him as she had just received an anti-rabies injection. She decided to buy a gummy ball candy for her son. Unfortunately, the child suddenly choked after consuming the candy while still inside the jeepney.

The woman tried to help her son by giving him water and applying the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the lodged candy in his throat. Despite her efforts, the gummy candy remained stuck, and the child was rushed to the hospital.
Tragically, the young boy lost his life, despite the medical team’s attempts to save him.
Parents and caregivers are urged to be vigilant and mindful of the choices they make for their children, ensuring that food items are age-appropriate and safe to consume.
