Kapamilya singer-actor JK Labajo revealed the role of his ex-girlfriend model-actress Maureen Wroblewitz in his recent hit song Ere.
JK and Maureen were together as a couple for two years. However, in June 2022, they officially announced their breakup. Based on their statements, it appeared that the separation went well. There was no fiery statement against each camp, instead, they even showed support for each other.
After the breakup, JK shared that he was able to write 70 songs and one of those songs was Ere.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, JK Labajo directly admitted that this song was inspired by his breakup with Maureen Wroblewitz.
“Kung hindi obvious, ewan ko na lang!” the singer-actor said. He added that he is not hiding anything and that it is already given that the whole thing is about a breakup. This summarized the breakup that he went through.
“‘Ere’ is one of the songs that I made for my relationship that ended, so that’s it. What part of the song? The whole song!” JK said.
This breakup song received overwhelming support and it made a historical record when it comes to music. It is the first Pinoy song that enter the global chart on Spotify after it was released last August 2023. This gained recognition Most Streamed Local Track in the Philippines.
This JK’s new song also broke the all-time record for the biggest single-day stream on Spotify Philippines. Ere reached 1.39 million streams in a day surpassing the song“Mine” by award-winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
Meanwhile, Maureen Wroblewitz is now in a relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend Noah Steinbuch. The model-actress has been sharing their sweet photos together on social media. JK Labajo apparently is still single, as of writing.
