Paolo Contis has made a conscious effort not to be asked about the Eat Bulaga trademark issue
Kapuso actor-host Paolo Contis chose to do this to ask questions about the recent Eat Bulaga trademark issue update.
Paolo led the new set of Eat Bulaga hosts when Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and the legit Dabarkads left TAPE Inc., the production company behind the Kapuso noontime show.
From the time Paolo and the new hosts took over the show, until now, negative reactions poked on social media here and there as avid EB fans for many years believe that TVJ has the right to use the show’s title.
Just recently, the decision made by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL) favored TVJ. However, Paolo Contis stressed that there is no finality yet. TAPE Inc. asserted as well that they will continue to use the title and hoped that TVJ will not use it yet.
Based on the article in PEP, Paolo is aware that he will be asked about this issue. The actor’s movie Ikaw At Ako with Rhian Ramos had a premiere night on December 5 at the SM Megamall.
However, the actor chose not to attend the event because that day, the IPOPHIL’s decision was released and people started talking about the Eat Bulaga issue once again. When asked if his reason for not attending the premiere night was because he did not want to be asked about Eat Bulaga, the actor-host answered, “Korek!”
“Pag pumunta kasi ako, yun lang ang itatanong. Hindi na yung sa movie,” he added. On the other hand, Paolo said that he will work extra hard to promote their movie. “Tuloy lang kami ng trabaho dito,” he said.
The movie is directed by Rechie del Carmen and also features veteran actress Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo.
