Bar exam passers had their emotional moment after the result was released

A father and a 62-year-old woman had an emotional moment after they saw their names in the list of Bar Exam 2023 passers.

Being a lawyer is one of the most respected occupations in society. Over the years, aspiring lawyers continue to pursue their dreams of being called “attorneys.” There is prestige in this profession, as well as high regard from the public.

Studying law always creates a perception that this is just for intelligent and determined individuals. This profession does not require a certain age bracket or social status.

On December 5, 2023, the Supreme Court released the Bar Exam results, and out of 10,387 who took the three-day exam last September, only 3,812 passed.

This year’s bar exam was topped by Ephraim Bie from Santo Tomas University with 89.2625 percent.

There were many aspiring lawyers with family and loved ones who waiting for the exam results at the Supreme Court grounds. Based on the report from GMA News, one of them was Mark Lawrence Magno. The father was his baby when he waited for the bar exam results to be released.

Magno cried after knowing that he passed and he is now a lawyer. He said that all his hard work is dedicated to the future of his baby.

Another emotional moment was seen when a 62-year-old woman knew that she could now be called an “attorney.” Based on the report from CNN Philippines. Rosu Calacala from Northeastern College in Isabela was crying because she successfully passed the bar exam.

Meanwhile, before the bar exam results were released, Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen shared his message with aspiring lawyers. The former Bar chairperson stressed the importance of being humble, patient, compassionate, and being always ready to serve the people. “Do justice,” he said.
