Gustillo added that she has already spoken with the victim’s father, explaining that it would be better for the child to be in the DSSD facility for proper monitoring and to receive the necessary support and psychosocial assistance.

The incident came to light after a report was received by the Bacolod City Police Station 6 from a Purok Chairman, indicating an alleged case of abuse in their area.

Police Captain Dax Santillan, the station’s chief, stated that they immediately went to the location and spoke with the victim. The victim identified the suspect, who was then brought to the police station for questioning.

Santillan further mentioned that the suspect is a neighbor of the victim, and both are E-bike drivers. It is known that the minor resides alone with her father, who works as a butcher.

The DSSD, in collaboration with the local police, is taking steps to ensure the safety of the minor and to support her through the legal process.
