Beauty queen-politician Leren Bautista speaks about the viral accusations against Ricci Rivero about not doing his laundry.
Andrea Brillantes’ ex-boyfriend Ricci Rivero is currently in a relationship with beauty queen-politician Leren Bautista. She was the accused third party but Rivero has cleared it many times that she is not.
In a previous article, Ricci confirmed his relationship with Leren which caused the iconic line “Time is the ultimate truth-teller” to surface again.
During the height of the split between Andrea and Ricci, the actress quipped something that marked a lot of people. Andrea gave tips on how to move on and expressed something about not wasting her tears for someone who could even do his laundry.
“Talaga ba iiyakan ko yung lalaki na hindi nagpapa-laundry nang isang taon?” she said which made people assume that she was referring to her ex-boyfriend. She did not say any names but also did not make any clarifications about this.
Ricci, not doing his laundry, became viral and a running joke. While this is quite an embarrassing accusation, he and his current girlfriend chose to make fun of it instead of sulking in the corner.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Bautista spoke about this and explained the viral post she shared. This viral post is a Christmas of laundry and they even put a star on top of it.
“Kasi nga, di ba, parang na-quote na rin na si ano [Ricci] ay hindi naglalaba. So, parang kami, ‘Sige, let’s just make fun of this na lang.’ Kasi kawawa din naman siya since ganun nga yung tingin ng tao sa kanya na parang hindi nga daw siya naglalaba,” she said.
It was their attempt to make light of the situation.
According to her, the situation in the show business industry is very different from beauty pageants and politics. She realized that it is indeed true that no matter what they do, people will always have something to say. What they just have to do is focus on their respective careers.
She added, “Sabi ko nga, mas pag-igihan na lang namin ang mga trabaho namin and kung saan kami patungo, since siya sa PBA career niya and ako, as a councilor in Los Baños.”
