In the opening quarter, after a dunk and a couple of successful free throws, LeBron James made a three-pointer at the 7:11 mark, surpassing the 39,000-point milestone. He concluded the game with 17 points in 24 minutes, contributing to the Lakers’ undefeated run through Group Play in the NBA In-Season Tournament.
Before facing the Jazz, the Lakers held the sixth position in the Western Conference standings with an 8-6 record. Last February, LeBron James surpassed the previous scoring record of Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, which stood at 38,387 points.
