Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu have a new series together
Actor Paulo Avelino shared his thoughts on his new series with actress Kim Chiu after their Prime series Linlang.
Kim and Paulo’s onscreen partnership received a warm welcome from viewers. The series was a hit that also featured Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and JM de Guzman. Many viewers hated Kim’s character which proved that they were invested in the story.
After that series about betrayal and infidelity, they will be paired once again in a series but this time, it is a romantic comedy.
ABS-CBN recently announced that Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu will star in the Pinoy remake of the hit K-Drama series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim which featured Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young.
In an interview after the announcement, based on the article in PUSH, Kim shared how happy she is to be part of this project because she is a self-confessed K-Drama fan. The actress shared that she really binge-watched many series from South Korea during the pandemic.
This project is Paulo’s second collaboration with Viu. Previously, he did the remake of Flower of Evil with Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual. “I am very blessed and very grateful that they considered me Vice-Chairman. I am very excited to work with Viu again,” the actor expressed.
Kim admitted that they somehow feel the pressure because they are doing a remake of a well-loved series with well-loved Korean stars. The actress said that comparing is inevitable and perhaps, they will just incorporate the Filipino taste in their series to give a different flavor.
For Paulo, the pressure is more coming from the fact that his Vice-Chairman was originally played by Seo-joon who is a well-loved Korean actor. “Grabe ‘yung pressure sa akin kasi everyone loves the actor who played in Secretary Kim so I’m trying my best to look the part and play the part properly,” he said.
Paulo Avelino also acknowledged the fact that due to the success of his and Kim Chiu’s Linlang series, he was considered to be the actress’s leading lady in this project.
“I think a big reason why they considered me for this project was because of the success of Linlang and to everyone who watched Linlang and supported Linlang, thank you. It’s because of you guys its the reason why I was even considered to be cast here,” the actor said.
Previously, it was teased that Jake Ejercito was supposed to be Kim Chiu’s leading man.
